In the fitness world, types of exercise are categorized into different groups depending upon what kind of benefits your body gets from them.
This is not to say that some types of exercise are better than others, but rather it is to help you get a balanced set of exercises and results. Just like you wouldn’t eat just vegetables and expect to be healthy, you wouldn’t do only cardiovascular activity and expect to be fit.

Flexibility Exericise

This type of exercise is very beneficial to you at the beginning of your workout, although in the past people have done static stretching as a warm-up, new research has revealed that it is better for us to do calisthenic, or moving, stretches.
Cardiovascular Exercise
Here we have our most common type of exercise, or what people generally associate with the word exercise: aerobic. More specifically, “cardiovascular” refers to anything that improves the fitness level of your heart and/or blood vessels.
Cardiovascular exercise is extremely important because it improves how well your body gets and uses oxygen by improving the ability of your lungs, heart and blood circulation to deliver it to all the cells in your body.
Cardiovascular exercise also improves your ability to engage in any physical activity for longer periods of time because it increases the ability of the lungs and heart to get oxygen to the large muscle groups that are used during physical activity.
